What We’re Up To

I am busy planning a collaboration with Karen Blunden, a sound healer and reiki practitioner. The workshop will focus on understanding symptoms of perimenopause, with an emphasis on anxiety. Karen will finish the day with a sound healing session to leave us all feeling rested and rebalanced. This will be 27th April, tickets will go on sale March 7th.

I am in talks with a local gym about a workshop for their members to understand menopause better, and I have my first Q&A this month.

I spoke to NHS Dorset last month, after the disappointing news that funding for the Women's Health Hub was being withdrawn nationally. I was pleased to hear that not all was lost and they have been working hard at creating online resources for women across Dorset to utilise going forward. This is to be going live in April and will be really useful for information on menstruation, pelvic floor, contraception menopause and loads more. Put it in the diary!

Sound Healing

Have you heard of sound healing?

Sound healing can be deeply supportive for peri-menopausal and menopausal women, helping to ease physical symptoms, emotional imbalances, and energetic shifts during this transformative phase.

Key Benefits of Sound Healing for Menopause:

1️⃣ Balancing Hormones & Reducing Stress

Calms the nervous system – Sound frequencies, especially low tones, activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing cortisol (stress hormone) and promoting hormonal balance. Encourages deep rest – Helps regulate sleep disturbances common in menopause.

2️⃣ Easing Hot Flashes & Anxiety

Cooling effect – Certain frequencies (like Tibetan bowls, chimes, and soft gongs) create a cooling and soothing effect, counteracting the heat of hot flashes. Regulates breath & heart rate – Overactive sympathetic responses (racing heart, anxious thoughts) are slowed down with sound healing.

3️⃣ Emotional Release & Reconnecting with Self

Menopause is a major life transition – Many women experience grief, identity shifts, or emotional overwhelm. Sound healing helps to release stored emotions and provides a space for self-acceptance and renewal.

4️⃣ Grounding & Energy Rebalancing

Menopause can bring fatigue, brain fog, and disconnection. Sound healing grounds scattered energy, clears mental fog, and boosts vitality.

5️⃣ Reconnecting with Feminine Energy & Intuition

Menopause is a sacred time of wisdom and inner power. Sound healing encourages intuition, creativity, and self-trust.
